Description
GYRE9, LLC is a small, full service, product development firm of engineers and industrial designers with clients in medical, industrial, consumer, and sports products. We are growing and have an opening for a creative mid to senior level degreed Mechanical Engineer.
Our clients depend on us for creative solutions to their tough product development problems.
Unlike other small firms, for many of our clients, we handle the product development from conception thru sourcing and production support. They depend on our staff to shepherd their product through the whole process.
We are looking for a complete designer; someone who can be creative, but yet has the ability to “crunch the numbers” to validate the design. The ideal candidate will have experience working with multi functional teams including industrial designers, engineers, and manufacturing. A minimum of 3-5 years experience in a consulting or corporate environment is required.
Requirements:
A B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience with developing detail part drawings, assembly drawings, and BOM’s in accordance with applicable standards (ANSI Y14.5M & others)
Understanding of materials, complex plastic molding, metal fabrication and forming techniques, and finishes as well as associated process limitations
A high level of practical experience with proven technical skills with significant experience in 3D CAD, preferably Solidworks and/or Pro Engineer
Desired Qualities:
Effective manager with the ability to train/coach others
Ability to work with team to prototype designs in our fabrication shop
Hands-on experience in mechanism design, stress analysis, mold flow analysis and other CAD analysis tools
Contract design firm experience is a big plus!
General knowledge and experience over a broad range of disciplines: ie. Software, Electrical, Acoustics, Fluids, Pneumatics
